The highlight of NBA All-Star weekend is usually All-Star Saturday night and the slam dunk contest. This year was no exception as little Nate Robinson took on Dwight Howard in the finals in a David vs Goliath type of matchup.
Though the matchup seemed set up from the get-go with Dwight getting two 50’s in the first round, all eyes were on Nate Robinson in the final round as he wore his all green ensemble to take down Superman with his Kryptonite.
On Nate’s feet were the Nike Foamposite Lite shoes in a bright green “Kryptonate” PE colorway. I doubt these kicks will release to the public but they were fun to see anyhow.
Nike’s ACG has been in production for the past 20 years. ACG has a new colorway in red, grey and black. The Nike dunk sb shoes Wildwood Comet Red is sold at Kix-Files for around $125 per pair.
The shoe starts with a white toe box that is perforated. The black mudguard surrounds the perimeter of the sneaker. The shoe lace holes are on grey panels. The white tongue has a triangle logo with “ACG” to show off its branding. The letters are embroidered on the tongue. The Nike swoosh is in bright red. The inner lining of the shoe is black. The midsole is bi-colored with light grey and white layers. The outsole is black. The ACG brand logo is found on the white layer of the midsole. The heel is covered in grey leather. Over this, the back tab of black leather is attached.
The choice of neutral colors suits this season of spring. The bright red makes a bold statement. There is a balance of neutral and bright colors. These shoes would look good in a wide variety of situations. One pair of good kicks can carry you around without having to fuss about changing footwear.
I wrote about the third generation of Jason Nike Dunks by Mizzee Customs in yesterday’s post. The designer went back to the beginning of the story line to create this final version. If you like what you see, you can get in touch with Mizzee Customs at mizzeecustoms@aol.com to get your own hot customs.
The premise of the Jason Dunks 4.0 is that Jason Voorhees is chasing after a teenage girl in the forest. We see the potential victim of Jason’s murderous rage hiding behind some foliage on the outside right shoe and inside left shoe. When we take a look at the interior of the right shoe, we see Jason emerging from the darkness to strike his prey. The outside of the left shoe was painted to say “Friday the 13th” to honor the classic horror flick.
On the Jason Dunks 3.0, Mizzee Customs spared the color to focus on the gruesome details of Jason’s latest attack. The fourth and final installment in the Friday the 13th series by Mizzee takes this simple use of color to the next level. The designer’s use of red on the teenager’s lips and Jason’s mask along with the purple soles make these Dunks stand out.
